South Carolina Relocation Trends (2020)

Of the relocations in South Carolina, 64% were people moving into the state, compared to the 36% that moved out of the state. People over the age of 55 were the largest group to move into the state in 2020.

There are a variety of reasons for inbound relocations including family, jobs, and retirement being the most common. For more details about the reasons people are moving to South Carolina, check out the graph below.

Georgia Relocation Trends (2020)

Even though Georgia did not make the top 10 list for inbound relocations, they still had 51% of people moving into the state. Similarly to South Carolina, the most common age range to move into the state was over 55 years old, followed closely by those between the ages of 35 to 44.
