If you’re in the process of moving, you’re likely wondering what to do with all of your perishable food items. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! Here we will give you packing tips for perishable foods, as well as a list of items that ADSI cannot help you move. Let’s get started!

Packing Tips for Perishable Items

When packing perishable items, it’s important to keep them cool and dry. Here are a few tips to help you do just that:

– Use an insulated cooler or ice chest to pack perishable items.

– Place perishable items in airtight containers or bags.

– Line the bottom of your cooler or ice chest with ice packs or frozen gel packs.

– Pack perishable items in small batches to ensure that they stay cool and fresh.

It’s important to take foods that can withstand the move. If you are hiring a moving company, be aware that it is against the law for them to transport certain perishable items.

How to Pack Spices and Dry Foods

Spices and dry foods can be packed in airtight containers or bags. Be sure to label the containers so you know what’s inside. If you’re packing spices, you may want to consider packing them in a small box or tray so they don’t get lost in the shuffle. Cover the holes of shaker bottles with tape to avoid spills. If you have open boxes make sure to seal those as well.

Packing Canned Goods

Canned goods can be packed in boxes or plastic bins. Be sure to label the containers so you know what’s inside. If possible, pack canned goods in smaller batches to make them easier to transport. Keep in mind that canned goods can cost more to transport. It might be more cost efficient to donate what you have and replace these goods when you get to your final destination.

Packing Frozen Goods

When traveling with frozen goods you want to make sure they are kept in a refrigerated storage. If you don’t have access to that you might want to toss these. You can also use a third party service to transport your frozen/refrigerated goods if you do not wish to get rid of them. Try reaching out to a local cold storage facility to see if they can help you during your move.
