Apps to help clean and clear the clutter:

Evernote– Evernote is a great resource to help you lighten your paper load! If you have boxes of old files, receipts, etc. that you are looking for a better way to organize, Evernote can help with that. You can also use Evernote to make notes, create to-do lists and more. You can easily group items into categories called notebooks and then you can even share them across devices so no matter where you are, you have everything you need!   Letgo – Looking to get rid of some of your items but don’t have time to plan a huge yardsale or garage sale? No worries! Check out Let Go and list your items for sale to people near you. This is a great way to help you get rid of some of your items. Other tips: Lighten your load by contacting up with your local Habitat ReStore, Salvation Army or Good Will to see if they can take any of the items you do not wish to take with you.   ThreadUp – Buy and sell clothes on Threadup to help you get rid of those items that you no longer need or don’t want to take with you to your new home. ThreadUp offers a “clean-out kit” you can order for free. You fill the bag and send it back, they list the items and manage the transactions, then give you the money, or give you the option to donate it! It’s a great, hands off way to get rid of some of those items bogging you down AND you can possibly make a little cash while you’re at it.

Apps to help you organize:

Sortly: If you have a lot of stuff, this is the app for you! Sortly lets you create a visual inventory of your items using photos, QR codes, labels, tags and notes. You can manage your belongings as you get rid of old things and replace them with new ones. You can even organize your items into categories and search through your inventory. This is a great way to keep track of all those items as you’re prepping for your move. This is also a great system to use on a scaled down version, to track things like your china, or other items you’d hate to lose, number your boxes and categorize the contents by the box number in Sortly!   Nest Egg – Similar to Sortly, Nest Egg allows you to inventory your items, however this is a GREAT system for tech items, or items of value that might have warranties, service plans, etc. You can add your items, record the serial numbers, product warranty info, and even the date the warranty expires and Nest Egg will send you a reminder that it’s about to be expired and might need renewal! How awesome! The system also comes with barcode scanning for easy entry. Just scan the barcode on the box or tag and record it into your inventory. If you plan to purchase new items for your new home, this is an app that can really help you get organized in your new home!

Apps to help you Plan:

My Move – This app will help you remember all the big “to-do” items for your relocation. From helping find contact information for local relocation companies, to offering a digital to-do list, calculating the distance of your move, tips, tricks and more, this is a great app to supplement all the support that will come from working with your ADSI Moving Systems Move Coordinator.   Magic Plan: If you’re not sure what will fit into your new space, this is the app for you! Magic plan allows you to create digital floor plans of your space in the app and then add objects, notes, photos and more to help you organize a space. The app is free to use but you can pay a little extra to get print outs or digital copies of the floor plans from the app! Pretty cool, especially if you have a few pieces of large furniture that might be questionable in your new space!   See, we told you! There really is an app for everything.
